Education
I have a Master's in Counseling from Antioch University, Seattle since 1997. I have a Post Graduate Certificate in Therapy with Adoptive Families from Portland State University. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor since 2003 and Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor since 1996 in the State of Oregon. Most recently and for the last 12 years, I was the Director of the Substance Use Disorder Program at Western Psychological. Prior to that I provided Addiction services and Supervised Counselors at Residential and Outpatient Addiction Programs.
Theoretical Orientation
I believe that change is possible across the lifespan regardless of genetics or previous life experience. I use an eclectic approach grounded in modalities which are hopeful, effective, strength based, and client driven. I strive to build a space for change that feels safe and welcoming, but at the same time supports accountability to and goal attainment toward a happier and more fulfilling life.
