Matt Lauzon LCSW, CADCI

Education

Matt is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor I (CADC I). He has been practicing therapy since 2007. Matt also has experience working with children, adolescents, adults, families and groups for more than 22 years in various settings around the country including inpatient, outpatient at agencies, group homes, wilderness and community based settings. 

Services Offered

Individual, Family, Group Therapy with adolescents, children and adults. 

Theoretical Orientation

Matt utilizes Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) including Mindfulness approaches as well as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Family Systems Therapy. Though Matt specializes in a wide variety of areas, he in particular specializes in working with persons with Aspergers (on the autism spectrum). 

 

He has a strengths-based dynamic style that can include Sand Tray Therapy, play therapy and visual and technology tools and talk therapy that is creatively unique for each person. He endeavors to be culturally informed, aware of the intersection of your culture with mine and to cultivate an anti-racist space. He has a holistic approach that considers lifestyle, environment and family and to have daily habits add up to achieving long term goals. He seeks to help others to find balance in life, find a deeper self-understanding and healthier interactions with others. Together through the therapeutic process, Matt and his clients embark on a path to become more present in the moment, to make step by step changes in one’s life to craft a life worth living, where one’s actions matter as they support what is important in one’s life.


More Information

I enjoy spending time with those important to me especially while hiking & other outdoor activities, gardening, traveling, playing and listening to music, following professional basketball.
