Theoretical Orientation
Marisa views counseling as a collaborative relationship between client and therapist that is a courageous step toward wholeness and freedom. She seeks to create an understanding space where you feel heard and understood, and become more aware of your feelings, thoughts, and behaviors. Marisa comes from a Person Centered and Narrative framework that sees problems as the problem and not people as the problem. Problems can sneak up on us and let us think they are the only story in the room. Together, with your expertise, Marisa will support you in exploring your unique narrative so you will be able to re-author the parts of that story that you feel need changing.
More Information
Marisa is a Washingtonian by birth and an Oregonian by adoption. She enjoys walking, hiking, and biking in the beautiful outdoors. Hosting family and friends to gather around good food is another source of joy. To replenish her introverted side, you will find her reading for pleasure and for personal growth, as well as nurturing her creativity.
