Kathryn "Kate" Heitzhausen PsyD
Education
Kate completed her Bachelor of Science Degree in Human Development and Family Science from Oregon State University. she is licensed to practice in the state of Oregon. Kate began her clinical training at a community mental health center called Pacific Psychology and Comprehensive Health Clinic. She then worked in college counseling for four years at Pacific University, WSU Vancouver, University of the Pacific, and Portland State University. She most recently worked at Northwest ADHD Treatment Center. Kate specializes in working with young adults experiencing a variety of different concerns including ADHD, anxiety, depression, identity exploration, interpersonal relationships, and obsessive-compulsive symptoms. In addition, she has experience completing psychological assessments and evaluations.

Theoretical Orientation
Dr. Kate Heitzhausen's goal is for you to feel welcome, heard, valued, and respected throughout your therapy experience. Her philosophy towards therapeutic work is that you are the expert of your own experience, and she will work collaboratively with you to help you meet your goals. In addition, Dr. Heitzhausen will assist you in gaining a better understanding of yourself and the concerns that are bringing you into treatment. Her approach to therapy is integrative and includes interventions from Person-Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy.

Kate grew up in the Bay Area and moved to Oregon in 2011. She enjoys spending time outside, hanging out with friends and family, walking her dog, traveling, attending live concerts, and checking out local coffee shops.
