Services Offered
Individual
Jenny works with people of all gender identities and orientations seeking to deepen their connections with their own bodies and with others. Areas of special focus include supporting people in healing from trauma, relationship and intimacy coaching, gender exploration and affirmation and cultivating body acceptance. Jenny is committed to supporting healing for people who have historically been given less access to sexual empowerment and expression. Her practice centers around queer, non-binary, transgender folks and women.
Theoretical Orientation
Jenny's approach draws largely from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Attachment, Motivational Interviewing (MI) and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT). Jenny's philosophy is based on the belief that people do well when they can. Barriers such as stress, trauma and unhealthy coping strategies can be problematic in both individuals and relationships. Jenny aims to support growth in the direction one chooses, learning to solve problems and face crises- helping clients to move toward their identified goals, which are generally reduced to changes in behavior, emotional regulation, lifestyle, and perception of self.
Clients should be aware that counseling presents both benefits and risks, as they seek to make changes in their lives. The progress of counseling will be reviewed throughout the process, and modifications will be made as needed. The counseling room is a place of openness, with no judgement or bias.
