Education

I have over 10 years of experience working in a variety of settings including community mental health, residential mental health, and intensive outpatient addiction treatment, as well as 5 years in private practice. In most recent years, I worked in a clinical supervisory capacity, as well providing mental health counseling and therapy to individuals with severe and persistent mental illness, co-occurring addictions, and complex trauma histories. I have treated clients diverse in race, ethnicity, age, socioeconomic status, sexual orientation, gender and life circumstances, and I welcome and value diversity in my practice.

Services Offered

Individual counseling and therapy

Theoretical Orientation

I believe that the capacity and potential to change is within every person. I work in partnership with clients to develop a deeper understanding of individual strengths, personal challenges, and inner wisdom to facilitate moving through life authentically with a sense of meaning and intention. My approach is integrative within existential, interpersonal, humanistic, and mindfulness-based traditions, with an emphasis in developing insight, awareness and empathy for self, living in the present moment, and finding personal meaning. In addition, depending on client needs, I will incorporate techniques from evidence-based practices such as cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, and interpersonal neurobiology. I am deeply respectful of each individual’s process in therapy. My counseling style is contemplative, creative, warm, down-to-earth, and tailored to individual needs.

When you choose me to be your counselor, you can trust that:

  • I will approach our work with a trauma-informed, anti-oppressive, and difference affirming lens.
  • I will work collaboratively with you to go at a pace that is comfortable and that honors your life experience, individuality, and autonomy.
  • I will come to our sessions with an attitude of respect and unconditional acceptance for a fellow human being.
  • I will help to affirm, nurture, and support your authentic-self so that you can safely experiment with making the changes you desire.

I welcome you to take the next step and schedule an appointment with me. I look forward to meeting you!

More Information

In my time outside of work, I am, first, a mother to a rambunctious preschooler and spend ample time playing and exploring the world with wonder, among other non-glamorous parenting things. I love to read, ride my bike, hike and be outside as much as possible.
