Education
Jason earned his Master's Degree in Social Work from Portland State University in 1998, and has been licensed (LCSW) since 2005. His undergraduate degree was in Psychology with a Criminal Justice minor. He has over 16 years' experience working with teens and pre-teens and their families, with the full gamut of mental health and behavioral symptoms: anxiety, depression, ADHD, past trauma/PTSD, oppositional/criminal behaviors, family relational problems, autism, etc.

In addition to getting into the heart of the problems, Jason likes to focus on the strengths of the individual and family culture and what is going well, with humor and open communication. Utilizing evidence-based interventions like Collaborative Problem Solving, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Acceptance-Commitment Therapy, Jason provides practical guidance to managing symptoms, navigating the many challenges of childhood and adolescence, and strengthening family relationships.

I came to Portland for graduate school almost two decades ago and quickly fell in love with the Pacific Northwest. I enjoy the outdoors, hiking, running, baking, travel, and spending time with friends and family. I also have eclectic tastes in music, movies, sci-fi/fantasy, and various board/card games.
