I graduated from University of Oregon in 1998 with a Bachelors of Science in Psychology. I then attended Lewis & Clark Graduate School and graduated in 2003 with A Masters in Counseling Psychology. I have worked as an Intensive Family Therapist, Community Based Therapist, Crisis Intervention Specialist and I am currently a Licensed Professional Counselor at Western Psychological Counseling Services at their Tualatin location.
Individual, group, family
My therapeutic approach to therapy is based upon Family Systems Theory, which emphasizes and focuses on the family unit and how members are connected and dependent on one another. I utilize evidence based practices with therapy meaning that the interventions I use are based on successful research outcomes. The most commonly used interventions I use are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT0, Motivational Interviewing (MI), Trauma Informed Care, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Solution Focused Therapy (SFT) and Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT).
I love the outdoors and can often be found hiking a trail, paddle boarding Timothy Lake or kayaking any river. I enjoy camping and sleeping under the stars. I am also an avid sports fan and can be found cheering on the Duck's, Timbers, Thorns and the Blazers!!!!!
I enjoy reading and the public library is one of most favorite places to visit. I also enjoy board games with my daughter and am addicted to Yahtzee!
