David Grushkin LPC, LMHC
MS in Counseling from San Francisco State University, 1993. BS Music from New York University. 30 Years counseling experience. 19 years with Western Psychological and Counseling Services.
Career Counseling for career choice and career transition.
Mr. Grushkin's primary goal is to help clients feel better and function better in their here-and-now, day-to-day life. His orientation is toward changing thinking patterns, beliefs and behaviors that are not helpful, and toward having more mindful awareness in daily life. He has an interactive practical problem-solving approach, which includes training in skills for calming the mind and body, and for increasing in-the-moment awareness. Mr. Grushkin believes that in a calm body and clear mind, non-helpful, or harmful, moods and thoughts are less able to control your life.
Mr. Grushkin enjoys playing the flute, learning guitar, watching sci-fi movies, reading about what physics might tell us about consciousness and the universe, doing yoga and being outdoors in nature. Mr. Grushkin has had an interest in Eastern Philosophy and meditation for several decades.
