Andrea Tomoe LPC
Education
After graduating from CSULA with a BA in Telecommunication and Film, I pursued a Master of Art in Clinical Mental Health at George Fox University. While working on my degree, I became a registered yoga teacher and I have taught for over 7 years. I often like to incorporate meditation and mindfulness activities into my work as a therapist. Since finishing my MA I have completed a certification in EMDR and DBT.
Services Offered
I am passionate about serving all individuals who wish seek support, a place to be vulnerable and the opportunity to grow. I work with adults, teens, and LGBTQ individuals. My work serves those who are struggling with relationship issues, anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, adjustment disorder, body image and eating disorders, or significant life changes, such as a career switch, illness, grief or a relationship shift.
Theoretical Orientation
Just as many pieces make up the whole of a person's life, there are many components make up a successful experience with counseling. The therapeutic journey begins from a place of trust and support. My techniques come from a combination of Solutions Focused, DBT, Family Systems and movement therapy. In addition, I offer all of my clients the opportunity to do Yoga as part of their therapeutic journey. Not every individual may need all of these modalities, and I want to mold our therapeutic relationship based on what is best for you, my client.
More Information
For fun I enjoy painting, seeing films, cooking food, taking care of my dog daughter Luna, and snowboarding with my fiancee through the Oregon winters.
