This psychoeducational group is based on Dialectical Behavior Therapy skills developed by Marsha Linehan, PhD, ABPP. Group members will learn to cultivate mindfulness and skills for distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness.
The group consists of three modules (five to six weeks long) that repeat:
Module 1- Distress Tolerance (starts June 2020 and October 2020);
Module 2 - Emotion Regulation (starts July 2020 and November 2020); and
Module 3 - Interpersonal Effectiveness (starts April 2020 and August 2020).
It takes about five months to complete all three modules. New group members may join at the start of each new module as space is available. The group is capped at 15 members. Attendance at the first session of each module is required for new group members. Skills training handouts and worksheets will be provided.
This group is for current WPCS adult clients who are referred by their Western providers, and continuing individual therapy. Please contact Laura Lyons, MA, LPC, at (503) 253-4600 with any questions.
