Terri Sutton Intern
More Information
Terri J. Sutton graduated from Oregon State University with a Master’s in Counseling and from Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary with a Master’s in Divinity. Terri works with children and adults to recognize their strengths, engage in wellness practices, develop resiliency, and experience empowerment and self-advocacy. Her approach is to help clients address their mental health, relationship needs, and concerns. She values multicultural counseling and thus works with clients to identify personal, family, and community strengths. Terri uses the client’s lived experiences, personal narratives, and values to foster growth and wellness. Using her background in early childhood education and experience working with families, Terri also helps clients foster healthy relationships and to understand attachment needs within the context of their relationships. In her spare time, Terri enjoys spending time with her adult children, extended family, and friends. Terri’s faith and church community have an important place in her life. She enjoys being out in nature and near water, whether the ocean, river, lake, or a small creek and especially enjoys walking and playing with her son’s dog, who reminds her of the importance of play and laughter. Terri also enjoys listening to podcasts or a good book that invites her to reflect on life experiences. And she especially loves traveling and learning from people and different cultures.
