Sophie Millon Early Intervention Program Supervisor
Sophie obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of California, Santa Cruz. She earned her Master of Science in Speech and Hearing Sciences from Portland State University and completed a Graduate Certificate in Applied Behavior Analysis at the University of Cincinnati. While attending Portland State University, Sophie served as coordinator of the Autism and Social Communication Lab under the mentorship of Dr. Amy Donaldson. She recently completed a clinical fellowship with Easter Seals Southern California Autism Services. Sophie is a licensed speech-language pathologist in California and Oregon and is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). Sophie has completed coursework and internships in autism spectrum disorder, augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) feeding and swallowing, voice, speech and language disorders and fluency. Sophie also has training in self-injury, aggression, and other intensive challenging behaviors.
Intensive 1:1, individual, group, community and family treatment for those affected by autism spectrum disorders.
Sophie conducts ABA therapy which uses evidence based intervention to help individuals including those affected by Autism Spectrum Disorder. Treatment includes therapy techniques including behavior analysis and verbal behavior approach. She uses evidence-based interventions for communication, behavior and social interactions for children and families affected by autism spectrum disorders. Treatments include augmentative and alternative communication (AAC), discrete trial training (DTT), pivotal response training (PRT), natural environment teaching (NET), functional communication training (FCT), and social skills training.
