Riley Shaffer LCSW
More Information
Riley Shaffer is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Oregon who has been practicing since 2021. She has studied at Boston University School of Social Work and Boston University School of Public Health. Riley’s approach in therapy is authentic, adaptive, creative, and collaborative. She uses an empathic-person centered approach to think and works with each individual to find what part(s) of therapy may be best for them. Riley works to support clients in (re)finding and illuminating their internal and external strengths and resources. Through her relational approach, therapy provides a space where they can explore their identities, relationships, formative and or painful experiences, and coping mechanisms in a nonjudgmental and compassionate space. Beyond exploration, Riley works with clients to create meaningful goals to help guide their time together. She uses a blend of therapeutic modalities, including Internal Family Systems, Mindfulness, Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Acceptance Commitment Therapy, Psychodynamic, and Narrative Therapy. Riley hopes to make clients feel empowered both here, in therapy, and outside in their communities to advocate for themselves and their needs. Outside of work, Riley enjoys rock climbing, yoga, hiking, playing board games, listening to live music, cooking, and spending time with friends and family. She is also consistently in the pursuit of finding the best cup of chai in the city.
