Nathan Mickley LMHC
I completed a Master’s of Arts in Professional Mental Health Counseling from Lewis & Clark College, Oregon, and a Bachelor’s of Arts in Psychology from Miami University, Ohio. I’ve worked at Sea Mar Community Health Centers since November 2019 – first as a Mental Health Therapist Intern, then as a Mental Health Therapist. Other relevant experience includes two years as a Residential Counselor for people with Severe Persistent Mental Illness.
I believe the therapeutic relationship is the foundation of effective therapy. As a result, I place a strong importance on developing rapport with clients through warmth, kindness, mutual respect, and humor. My approach to therapy is primarily rooted in the principles of Attachment Theory, and I will often use techniques of Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Mentalization-Based Treatment (MBT).
In my free time, I enjoy spending time with friends and family, weekend road trips, reading, movies, and board games.
