Molly Sterling LPC
Education
Molly is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the State of Oregon, and is working towards certification as a Registered Art Therapist (ATR). She completed her Master's Degree in Art Therapy Counseling at Marylhurst University. Molly has worked in a variety of settings, including: outpatient community mental health agencies, residential treatment facilities, and inpatient hospitals, primarily with adults.
Services Offered
Molly provides individual and group therapy to adults with a wide range of diagnoses. She uses traditional forms of talk therapy, as well as expressive art therapy techniques. She is also trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).
Theoretical Orientation
Molly employs a strength-based, person-centered approach to therapy. She utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), somatic approaches, mindfulness, and other trauma-focused modalities (like EMDR), depending on the client's needs. Molly believes that therapy is a collaborative process between client and therapist and she strives to facilitate growth and provide support for clients on their unique journeys towards healing. She particularly enjoys working with clients who have experienced trauma, and finds that art therapy plays a unique role as an intervention with traumatized individuals. She has also completed EMDR Basic Training (Somatic & Attachment Focused).
Molly is committed to meeting people where they are and matching the best approach to their individual needs, whether it is traditional talk therapy, art therapy, EMDR, or some combination of the three.
