Individual, Group, Couples, Family Counseling
With a warm and empathetic approach, Mikie’s theoretical orientation involves utilizing solution focused therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing and some dialectical behavioral therapy. Mikie believes clients have the strength and resources to solve their own life issues or struggles but may have barriers because of unproductive thought patterns, negative beliefs or programming getting in the way. In session, Mikie provides tools for those who struggle with recognizing their barriers and incorporates learning/practicing self-care, boundary setting, recognizing self-worth, and using mindfulness to remain present in order to move forward and experience a more fulfilling life.
Mikie enjoys spending time with her two dogs and partner going on hikes, the coast or anything outdoors. She loves to cook and try new recipes, but her all-time favorite food is sushi.
