Matthew has a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology from Doane University with advanced courses in human growth and development, group dynamics, major counseling theories, research methodology, professional orientation and ethics, social and cultural foundations, career counseling, substance abuse treatment and clinical assessment.
Matthew has diverse experience providing mental health services through both individual and group therapy. He has served clients at the
Lincoln Regional Center Psychiatric Hospital as well as at Bridgeway Recovery Services in Salem.
Matthew has more than 6 years of experience working with children, adolescents and their families, as well as adults facing various challenges of adjustment, loss, and transition.

Matthew primarily employs a Dialectical Behavioral approach to treatment with a strength-based and solution-focused approach to
individualized care. He maintains that all children and adolescents have the ability to develop into functioning adults with consistent support and positive
modeling, and that supportive encouragement and accountability contribute to children, adolescents and adults leading healthier lives. Goals of treatment are collaboratively established with clients.
