Leif Moa Anderson LMHC
Education
I have a bachelor’s degree in Philosophy and a Master’s degree in Systems Counseling. I have training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Attachment theory, Family Systems theory, mediation, Non-Violent Communication, various forms of meditation, etc…, and I am always learning more.
Theoretical Orientation
None of this may mean anything to you, so here is what is actually important.
A pioneer of family therapy once said, “You have to invent a new therapy for every client.”
So I will use all the above tools I have learned from my personal and professional training to listen very closely and ask deepening questions to take my general understanding of psychology, relationships, and the human condition to customize a therapy specific to you.
My goal is to empower you to be more of who you want to be and less of who you have been programed to be by experience.
I also run an education skills group for Understanding Relationships (one for adults, one for teens) and a practice group called Applied Mindfulness (one for adults, one for teens). You can find out more about them in the groups section of the website.
