Theoretical Orientation

Laura wholeheartedly believes in the beauty and resilience of the human spirit and looks for each person's individual strengths and capacity for growth. She understands people to be fundamentally relational beings. Given the social nature of people, she holds that challenges are best addressed from within the context of family, friends and community. Laura's approach to therapy is grounded in attachment theory as well as neuroscience and is primarily systemic. She works to establish a client-therapist relationship that is collaborative while providing interventions to help you experience positive change throughout the therapy process and after.

Laura hopes her clients find greater connection with others and the world, deeper meaning and purpose with others and the world, and more joy in their lives. Counseling is hard work and requires effort and dedication. Life is worth working hard for and Laura is dedicated to walking with you along the journey.
