Katie Bucko MA (LPC Intern)
Katie earned a Master of Arts in Counseling from George Fox University in 2011. She did an internship with Sherwood School District (high school) in 2010-2011. Katie has a Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry/Pre-Medicine from Cedarville University in Ohio, 2006.
Individual and Group Counseling.
Katie believes that a person of any age is worthy of respect and has the potential to make choices, grow, and heal. She believes as a counselor, she can help clients utilize their strengths and work together to understand their problems and find steps toward healing and sustainable change. Katie's theoretical influences include narrative, existential, and person-centered therapies, as well as cognitive behavioral and dialectical behavior therapy. In working with children, she values the work of play therapists Virginia Axline, Garry Landreth, and Daniel Sweeney.
I love finding what is beautiful around me, whether it is the Oregon Coast, architecture in a city, or a single tree. I also enjoy hiking and cheering on my favorite sports teams with my husband.
