John earned his Master of Social Work from Eastern Washington University in Spokane, Washington. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Idaho in 2003. John has experience working with children and families, disabled adults and older adults.

John primarily uses a Humanist/Existentialist approach, meaning using the goals the client has identified and assists in forming doable strategies to reach them by using their strengths, combined with the help of several therapeutic tools and positive support. John also uses evidence-based best practice methods such as Cognitive Behavioral, Narrative, Solution Focused, Mindfulness, Systems, Behavior Modification Theory, Family Relations, Collaborative Problem Solving, Acceptance-Commitment Therapy. He provides culturally competent, practical guidance to managing symptoms and navigating the many challenges of various life stages, as well as strengthening relationships.
