Individual, group, and family counseling. Therapeutic modalities include: talk-therapy, music therapy, art therapy, and psycho-education therapy.
Sociological - I believe that "self + society" is a reciprocal relationship, and I consider someone's labeled "deviant" behavior in the context of his/her upbringing as well as acknowledge his/her demographic needs (e.g. masculine barriers to sobriety vs. feminine barriers to sobriety.) I also strive to empower the patient to make healthy and safe choices that are customized to his/her values and beliefs.
Experienced in providing the following treatment interventions: CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy), DBT (dialectic behavioral therapy), CPS (collaborative problem solving), Beyond Trauma, Helping Men Recover, Helping Women Recover, Seeking Safety, Motivational Interviewing, Soul Collage, guided meditations, Jungian Mandalas, and structured deep-breathing techniques.
I enjoy craft projects such as crocheting, sewing, scrapbooking, and drawing/painting. I also enjoy both reading and writing fiction and poetry. My outdoor hobbies are walking, hiking, and gardening.
