Jess Spain CADC I
I have a bachelors degree in psychology with a minor in child and family studies from Portland State University. For The past four years I have worked for a non-profit that serves the Native American community with substance use disorders. Before counseling I was a veterinary technician for 6 years. I have volunteered at Donald E. Long house for youth as well as McLaren Youth Correctional.
I offer individual and group substance use treatment. I like to focus on building on already existing skills as well as introducing a wide variety of coping and life skills.
I believe that it is vital to look at a person as a whole rather than focus solely on the presenting concerns. I like to center treatments on an overall wellness model that helps clients to find a balance in life that works for them. Treatment is individualized to meet the needs of the client.
In my free time I have a passion for baking. I love to read, spend time with family and write. I have an elderly dog who is still full of life so I take her out into the world as much as I can for adventures.
