Education
Heather received a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, from Concordia University in 2005, and a Master of Arts in Marriage, Couple & Family Therapy, from Lewis and Clark College in 2010. She received her Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist credential in July of 2014. Heather has also completed coursework in Treating Eating Disorders. Her professional, academic emphasis and experience has been focused on working with children and teens experiencing mental health crisis, providing family therapy to parents and couples therapy in the family context. Heather has much experience in helping children and families recovering from physical and sexual trauma, depression, anxiety, eating disorders, AD/HD and Autism Spectrum as well.

Theoretical Orientation
As your therapist, Heather believes in a holistic, strength-based, systemic and cognitive behavioral approach to therapy. She believes that culture, life experiences, ethnicity, socioeconomic status, race, disability, family influence, gender and sexual orientation impact how people navigate their daily lives. She works to ensure a safe, comfortable and respectful space where families can explore their thoughts and emotions, incorporate strategies that will help them discover their strengths, and create goals and work toward achieving the change that they seek.

Heather enjoys running, baking, crafting, gardening and watching movies with her family. She spends any free time at home because there's not too much of it!
