Dawn Whitman Psy.D., Regional Director of Integrated Care & Evaluation Services

Education

Dr. Whitman (she/her) is the Director of the Health Psychology Program at Western and provides clinical services to children, teens and adults referred by our medical partner groups. She has her Psy.D. from Antioch University New England and undergraduate degree from University of Oregon. She is licensed in Oregon and Washington.

Theoretical Orientation

Dr. Whitman believes in culturally responsive, whole person care by treating the biological, psychological and social aspects of behavioral health issues. She utilizes an integrative approach with her clients where she matches interventions to the client’s unique needs. She incorporates client feedback into her work to help guide treatment and create a collaborative therapeutic relationship.  

She has training in Time Limited Dynamic Psychotherapy, Psychodynamic Psychotherapy approaches, Interpersonal Psychotherapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Mindfulness. She also integrates concepts from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Family Systems and Emotion Focused Therapy.
