Cory Cordero LPC
Education
I graduated from the University of Washington with a BA in Psychology and from Lewis and Clark College with a MA in Counseling Psychology with Addictions emphasis. I have worked in inpatient and outpatient settings as therapist and assessment specialist as well as in the community as a crisis specialist.
Services Offered
I offer individual therapy and group therapy. I specialize in depression, anxiety, and trauma issues. I have experience with treating process addictions including Internet and Video Game addiction. I am also comfortable working with cultural/racial identity issues, as well as men's issues.
Theoretical Orientation
There is a strong core of mindfulness that runs through all of the therapies I have training in as I believe this is a very beneficial practice. I also utilize Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy, narrative therapy, existential therapy, solution focused therapy, and some bilateral sensitization techniques. I feel it is important to identify the problem and to distinguish you (and all of your strengths and resources) from the problem itself.
More Information
I'm a passionate gamer and I feel that games can be used to creatively facilitate change! I enjoy disc golf, reading, singing and playing guitar, and our local soccer teams, the Timbers and Thorns!
