Angela Guerrero LPC
Angela was born in Austin, Texas, raised in Houston, and grew up spending summers visiting extended family in Colombia, South America. Her first degree was in Journalism from the University of Texas at Austin. She found that she was drawn to counseling just as much as she was to writing, so she went back to get a Masters in Professional Counseling in 2009 from Texas State University. Angela enjoys working with children, adults and families. She worked as a school counselor for five years in Austin elementary schools before becoming a psychotherapist. She led groups on anger management, communication skills, and domestic violence for almost three years. Much of her experience as a psychotherapist has been in working with people who are experiencing difficulties with anxiety, depression, relationship stress, and challenging work situations.
Individual, Group, Family Counseling.
Angela's studies in meditation, mindfulness and yoga, have inspired her to help others attain wellness at all levels through a holistic approach that encourages more self-awareness, by learning how to connect in mind, body and spirit, and most importantly, how to befriend emotions. She believes that the values of integrity, self-acceptance, self-compassion, and gratitude are essential to feeling fulfilled in life and cultivating harmonious relationships.
I enjoy being active outdoors, yoga, photography, reading and traveling.
