Theoretical Orientation
Ms. Cottrell's approach is to provide the appropriate treatment for the patient as needed. She likes the client to be as involved in treatment as they can, including creating homework assignments, and setting the pace of frequency of treatment visits. Ms. Cottrell is in on-going training and supervision as a group therapist. She is trained in Modern psychoanalytic group therapy which focuses on emotional engagement and enhancement of the individual's innate ability to form healthy and rewarding relationships.
