Dr. Lovenstein's approach to treatment is systemic. This is a philosophy of counseling that looks simultaneously at the client and his/her ongoing interaction with the environment in all its aspects (life experiences, health, culture, gender, significant others, society at large). He practices a compassionate, creative and sensitive therapy that is designed to help his clients live a more hopeful and meaningful life. It is Dr. Lovenstein's belief that even though people seem to differ in their inborn ability to handle life's stresses, their resilience and sense of mastery can be cultivated. This, in turn, can enhance their pride in their own survival, increase their drive for meaning and deepen their spirituality.
