Melissa has a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from University of North Florida and a Bachelor's of Arts in Psychology with a minor in Women's Studies from California University of Pennsylvania and has participated in graduate level courses in Human Growth and Development, Ethics, Counseling Diverse Populations, Group Counseling, Career Counseling, Addictions Counseling, Sexual Isses, Grief, and more. She is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Mental Health Professional in Washington state and has served adolescent and young adult clients for the past 3 years facing an array of mental health issues with a concentration on those struggling with homelessnes, trauma, mood disorders, psychotic disorders, and eating disorders. She also worked with adolescents and adults of all ages during graduate internship through healing and empowerment after experiencing sexual trauma.

Melissa approaches therapy from a Person Centered, Cognitive Behavioral approach to treatment while taking skills from Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and Motivational Interviewing to help each client's individual needs. She also uses a feminist and multicultural framework to empower and support her clients who have experienced oppression throughout their lives.
